Phakic intraocular lens is a lens which is implanted within your eye to correct low to high myopia, hyperopia, hyperopia with astigmatism and also myopia with astigmatism providing excellent vision so you can get rid of your glasses and/or contact lenses.
EYECRYL Phakic range of lenses are made of hydrophilic acrylic, a highly biocompatible material.
LASIK is a very different approach. This procedure corrects myopia and astigmatism by reshaping the cornea by removing tissues after burning them with the laser beam. In some cases, the patient can develop dry eyes syndrome. LASIK procedure is irreversible.
LASIK is not suitable for patient with thin corneas and a refractive error over -8.0D /-10.0D. The thickness of the cornea isn’t relevant for the EYECRYL Phakic procedure and myopias ranging from -0.5D up to can be treated. It is a reversible procedure which means that for any reason and at any moment, the lens can be removed, and you get back to your original eyesight condition.
Normally you could undergo the treatment if you are at least 18 years old and your myopia, hyperopia and/or astigmatism have been stable in the last 12 months. In any case, only your surgeon can confirm if you can undergo this procedure after thoroughly examine your eyes and other parameters.
Yes. This procedure is completely reversible. EYECRYL Phakic IOL can be removed for any reason and at any moment. This can be done easily and quickly by your ophthalmic surgeon.
Your surgeon may ask you to use eye drops after the procedure for a few days. You will not need to do so permanently.

It depends on your eye condition, other parameters related to your eyes and the refractive error we want to correct. Normally, you won’t need to wear glasses for day-to-day activities after undergoing EYECRYL Phakic range of lens procedure. Your ophthalmologist will give you more detailed information.
This lens is implanted behind the Iris which is the colored part visible to others. Hence, once implanted, this lens won’t be visible to person with naked eyes looking at you.
No, this procedure is performed in operation room.
Once taken into operation room, it usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes per eye. However, you may will have to report a few minutes or hours prior to the procedure for preparations and may will have to stay for a few minutes or hours after the procedure to be under observation.
Usually because of the effect of the surgical procedure, immediately after the surgery, you may feel a little blurriness in vision. But after a few hours, you will be able to see clearly. This period may get stretched for a day or two. This can be explained by your consulting surgeon.
You will not experience any irritation in the eye because of the implanted lens. But you may feel irritation for a few hours or days because of surgical process, which will go away with proper medication and care as per guidance of your consulting surgeon.

But if it continues for a longer period, you need to consult the surgeon and they will guide you for the next step to be taken in order to solve the issue and your satisfaction.
If you only have a simple myopia or hyperopia, EYECRYL Phakic is the lens required to correct your myopia. But if you also have astigmatism, to treat myopia or hyperopia with astigmatism at the same time, then EYECRYL Phakic Toric lens is required. With a Toric lens, both spherical and cylindrical error are treated.
You may check this with your ophthalmologist as the price of this procedure may vary depending on the country you live in and the surgeon performing the surgery.
In any case, EYECRYL Phakic IOL procedure cost should be way lower than the cost of wearing glasses and/or contact lenses in the long run.
