LASIK is a very different approach. This procedure corrects myopia and astigmatism by reshaping the cornea by removing tissues after burning them with the laser beam. In some cases, the patient can develop dry eyes syndrome. LASIK procedure is irreversible.
LASIK is not suitable for patient with thin corneas and a refractive error over -8.0D /-10.0D. The thickness of the cornea isn’t relevant for the EYECRYL Phakic procedure and myopias ranging from -0.5D up to can be treated. It is a reversible procedure which means that for any reason and at any moment, the lens can be removed, and you get back to your original eyesight condition.
